Weird printing issue!

167 100+
This one is a really wierd, inconsistent problem. Here's the scenario.... I have code that prints 21 reports, one right after another. I have hit a problem where sometimes, only 2 reports may print, but the print dialog box stays open stating 'printing page 1 of 1' as if the network printer is not communicating back to it to tell it it is finished so close the box and move on to the next line of code. This does not happen consistently that is why it is so hard to pin point. When it does 'hang up', I have to do a ctl/alt/del and to kill the app, then I have to re-boot my machine to be able to print again. It must be something internal getting jammed up or set that is causing this. Any ideas????

Any number of things can cause this from lack of sufficient memory in a printer to an outdated printer driver. I think postscript printers are more likely to have problems as they can do major graphic computations onboard and quit working when the memory runs out. Double side printing is a huge memory hog. See if a memory upgrade fixes the problem and try the latest printer driver. If HP then get on the HP forum. I added a small amount of memory to an old dell multifunction system and it made a huge difference.

Thanks for the suggestions. You are talking about a network printer, correct?
