Combine Fields Asking Parameter

P: 2
I am trying to combine LastName, Prefix and FirstName in one field in a report. The syntax doesn't error out, but when I run the report it asks for the LastName and FirstName. If I don't put anything there, the only thing that displays is the Prefix field. Of course, putting something there causes the same LastName and FirstName to appear in all rows returned. Can someone help me?

You need to ensure that the record source for your report includes both the LastName and FirstName fields from your underlying query or table. Then it's just a matter of using an unbound text box with its control sourse set to a formula like.

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. = [Prefix] & " " & [FirstName] & " " & [LastName]
Of course you can arrange the field names in whatever order you want.

If there is a possibility that the Prefix may contain a Null Value, then use this syntax in order to avoid a leading space:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. = [Prefix] + " " & [FirstName] & " " & [LastName]
