Preparing a Demo Database Disc

129 100+
Hi i would just like to thank this site and all the experts that have been helping me with my database system, you have been a huge amount of help.

I was just wondering if you could advise me in what i need to do or consider when Packaging my database. It is not the complete software edition just a demo version. I am using Access 2007 and have downloaded the developers tool to use the Package Solution Wizard. I am compacting and resetting the AutoNumbers to 0. What else do i need to consider?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again.

Hello Constantine AI,

Glad we could be of service. One of the big things that you're going to have to make sure of when packaging your program is to make sure that you've included in your setup file that the file wizard creates is all of the support files that need to go along with it. If you included any integration with other applications. Don't ever assume that everyone has everything that your system has, Fonts, applications, MS Office of the same version that you're running.

You would also be in your best interest to include any require software that needs to be installed before running your install of the MS Access database.

Other than, that, you should be fairly safe for deployment.

I do have one question, what limits are you planning on placing on the demo so they just simply don't use the demo and don't buy your package?

Just a thought,

Joe P.
