Creating a word document from Access

P: 6
I'm getting better at VBA, but I'm still pretty new to it, so here's my question.

I've developed a database and application in MS Access 2003, and it functions very well over all, but my bosses have requested that I add a different functionality to it. See, the database tracks our independent contractors and their credentials which need to be renewed, and I have reports that show what contractors' credentials are expiring and when.

what they want from me is to make it so they can click a button and generate a template letter in MS Word to the contractor in question about their expiring credentials, populated with the person's name, address, etc. so they can print it out and fax or mail it to him/her.

I have absolutely no clue how to do that. I had the idea of just bypassing Word and making a report that could be populated by variables from another form but... I'm still pretty much in the dark here.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance
