VBA Clarification

P: 8
I am trying to retreive a numerical value that is stored in a table and its just been giving me fits.

Table Name: [Qualification Goals]
Table Fields: [Qualification], [First Tour End Month]

I am trying to retreive the data into a integer where I would select a Record in the table [Qualification Goals] where [Qualification] = "AEF" then have it return the value from [First Tour End Month].

My brains been like puddy so if its something stupid I am overlooking just smack me. Thanks for the help.

BTW trying to do in VBA because I am dealing with a lot of different varibles for other options.

Hey TheChazm,

My first question that I have to ask is what is the field type defined in the field [First Tour End Month] Is this a Integer value also or is it a Long Interger, These Numerical values are not at all compatible with each other since Interger can only have a value bwetween -32,767 and 32,768. If you're value that you're trying to retrieve is outside this boundery, then that is why you're having the issue.

Now this is simply a guess since you didn't provide detail descriptions on the values and fields names and type definitions for each table involved as well as provide sample data that you're tying to locate, and how you're locating it?

If you can provide all that detail, then we could have a better change of trying to solve your problem without having to resort to guessing what your problem is.

Just come from the idea, that you don't know anything about what you've done, and you have to explaine it to someone that doesn't know anything about your project.

Hope that helps,

Sorry about that I thought I was being pretty clear but here goes.
[Qualification Goals] is the only table I am dealing with here.

[Qualification] and [First Tour End Month] are the fields in that table.

[Qualification] is just a string
[First Tour End Month] is just a Long

Trying to get the value from [First Tour End Month] where [Qualification] = "Some matching criteria"

Hope this helps,
