Relationship view - can't select table
Question posted by: Don (Guest) on November 12th, 2005 01:42 PM
This is dumb... but. When I view the relationships, one of the tables is
positioned so high on the screen that the title bar is not visible. I would
like to reposition it so I can work with but I am unable to select it since
I can't get my cursor to the top of the table. I have tried to restore the
window, then maximize it again but I simply can't scroll the window high
enough to select the table.

How did this happen and how do I fix it?
************************************************** ****************

II have a similiar problem, only problem is, I cannot see any part of these hidden tables. this, I cannot even click on a field of these tables, I only see their links, pointing out of my screen.

Please help!

Thank You

HI. I'd suggest using the Clear option to clear the existing layout then adding the tables back in again (either one at a time or using Show All to do so). You can move them around as necessary when you do this. (I'm assuming that you have tried scrolling the relationships window horizontally or vertically as necessary using the scroll bars at the bottom and right of the window.)

For avoidance of doubt existing relationships set between tables are completely unaffected by clearing the layout window.

Interesting Stewart. I didn't know they were maintained even when not displayed in the window.

I was certainly not aware (also) that a table could be included in the Relationships window without it being possible to scroll the view to see it fully :S

Hi NeoPa. I too am puzzled how a table has ended up outside of the scrollable area - can't imagine how this happened.

In the relationships window the only way a relationship can be deleted is to select the relationship then select delete to remove that relationship. Removing the table from the window does not affect the relationship at all - and a good thing too I guess, as it is easy to accidentally remove tables when working in a crowded view (it gets really messy when working with large numbers of tables).

I attach a before and after view showing part of one of my relationship sets before clearing the window, and after adding all the tables back again.
