Select multiple items from a drop-down list

Hi everyone,

I want to be able to select multiple items from a drop down list. I have set up a second table with a list of records under one field called "Courses". On my main database table I have a field called "Pending Courses". I have used the Lookup wizard for this field so that a drop down list appears that's linked to the second table and so has a list of courses as the available options. Currently, however, only one course can be selected. For any given record I need to able to select multiple "courses" to be listed as data under this one field.

I'm very new to Access and so would appreciate your help!

Thanks

The functionality you require is not available in a ComboBox (drop-down).

You need to look at using a ListBox control instead.

Thank you NeoPa - I've now selected ListBox on the display control for the look up tab for this field. However I still don't get multiple selections. I've tried looking at the help pages but I can't seem to get to the properties for the list box (only general properties for the table...)

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help on this

Still can't get the properties for the ListBox unfortunately. The help guidelines say this;

Customize a list box, combo box, or drop-down list box
In Design view of the form or data access page, make sure that the list box, combo box, or drop-down list box is selected, and then click Properties on the toolbar to open the property sheet for the control.

I've tried selecting the ListBox on the Lookup tag for the field but when I select properties it only gives the table properties.

How can I get the properties of the control? What am I doing wrong?

The ListBox item I'm talking about is a control on a form. Not a way of setting up a field to display.

You are looking at the latter from what I can determine.
