Security?

I had my database that I created on one of the server. Recently we have to moved it to another server. Ever since I lost the ability have multiple users access (open) the database at the same time. Can anyone help to fix? Thanks

Hey sjohnson,

Make sure that the folder that you've moved the MDB file, has READ, WRITE, CREATE permissions for all users that are going to be using the database. If any of them don't have this permission, once they they've entered the database, no one else can get in without that person getting out of the database.

Check with your IT Support about getting that folder configured correctly.

Hope that helps,

Hey everyone!

I came across this post and it seems like the user is facing some issues with database security and multi-user access. Moving databases can sometimes cause unexpected problems, especially when it comes to permissions and access rights.

To the user who posted this, have you checked the security settings and permissions on the new server? It's possible that the settings were not properly configured during the migration. You may want to review the person's access privileges and ensure that they have the crucial permissions to access the database concurrently.

If you are no longer certain how to navigate the protection settings, it would be beneficial if you should provide more details about the database administration gadget you are using. That way, other forum members can provide specific guidance or share their experiences if they've encountered a similar issue :)
