Performance Issues on Windows 2003 Server

P: 3
Hi

I made a single user Access application with loads of VBA code.
It works perfectly on Windows XP.

I copied the application to a standalone Windows 2003 Server and performance of some query's drops by 50%.

What causes this immense difference?.

Hey geroldmodel,

My first question to you is, is the database split backend on Windows Server 2003 and Frontend on your local PC that is connected on a Network?

If not, this would take care of most of the issues that you're having with performance, but there is also an issue with dragging data across the network, that normally when you have it local doesn't have that bottleneck. This may be a lot of the reson you're experiencing perforance issues.

Hope that helps,

Joe P.
