Access Forms

P: 1
Hi folks - i am fairly new to using Access and have a slight problem - i have 2 database tables one called MAX and the other called Product List.
I a having a problem with a form that i have created. I have set it up so that my combo box called "PT/Code" when clicked populates another 2 fields with information to the code that has been selected. It gets this information from a table called Product List. in this table there are 4 fields Product_ID (primary key) product - text, Target hours - number, Planned hourly rate - number.

Once i have saved the infomation i look at the table MAX and it server the Product_id rather than the Product (which i want it do) into a field called pt_code.

Can anyone advise how i can do this as i say i am fairly new to Access so any help or advice would be fantastic

You can look at the properties of your ComboBox control, to change which data is returned as the value.

However, I wouldn't advise it.

Storing the code is a better way of handling this. Storing the actual name of the product would generally be considered a "wrong" way to go about things.
