Import Data from One table to another in MS Access

P: 1

I'd like to import data from one table to another in MS Access using VB. Both tables have equal or same primary key. I need to match unique field's value and then update record in the second table else insert new record into second table. Please advise. Thanks

Hi Bill07

Your question is to general for me to attempt an example.
Table and field names would help, with them I, or someone else, could attempt an example that would make more sense to you.

Have you done anything like what you are asking before?
In other words, how much experience do you have with doing this sort of thing?
Indeed, do you have much experience with VBA itself.

In SQL there's no way that I know of to both update and append in the same query.

You will need to split this process into two parts.
  1. Update matching records.
  2. Append new records.
As Delerna has already intimated, more detailed help cannot be given without some more detail / information in the question.
