criteria on combo box

hi all,

I have a form in which there is combobox which has empnames listed
and a textbox which has empIDs. textbox value is loaded from the
table, i have written a query which sets the criteria for combo box to
select the name that its ID is written in textbox. It does the filter
and the name is there in the combo but the problem is I have to click
on dropdown and select the name.

Could you please guide to automate the name selection in combo?

Try using the After_Update event of the empID text box to set the combo box
value.
Something like this:

Me.empname = dlookup("empname","tblEmployees","empname=" & empID)
