Inserting a PPT slide into a Report Form

Sol
Hi gurus,
I work for an oil company and need to fix an old DB, which used to work once. It will help us poor operators to do a safer job.
What it does:
When maintenance on a vessel is planned, the vessel needs to be isolated from the rest of the process.
For this, "Blinds" are being inserted between the vessel and the rest of the process.
For this, we have 2 things to help in the planning-stage:
1. Blind list DB
2. Blind List Drawings. (In PowerPoint form)
They are in separate folders.
I managed to fix up the Blind list DB (with my limited experience), but I also would like to have the Drawings appear on the same report form as the blind list report. This would make the DB more user friendly. If some friendly soul could point me into the right direction, I would appreciate that very much.
There are about 600 different vessels and 600 different Drawings.
The DB is made with Access 97. Sorry 'bout that. You know all those oil companies, how poor they are :-).
Any hints on how to marry the DB with Drawings would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards
Frank

Hi Frank,

I would like to see if I can help you. I also worked for an oil company as an engineer in the 90s. When we did turnaround maintenance I too had to prepare blind lists for vessels. If you would like my help, contact me at rl****@penn.com.

Thanks!

Hi Gurus,

Sorry to stir up old "memories" but the question still remains.
How do I insert a PowerPoint slide graphic into an Access97 report form.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/210075 tells me that I apparently will need
Access 2003.
Can it be done with Access97? If so, how?
Thanks fellas.
Best regards
Frank

It is not clear to me what you want with ... "an Access97 report form"
Do you need to display some ppt sheets in a form or in a report?

Code a http://support.microsoft.com/kb/210075 is working with Access97
Just tested that. Follow the instructions
It displays a ppt presentation in a form and you are able to navigate the ppt presentation
You should be able to adapt the code to your needs I guess.

BTW: I guess it would be much easier to display graphic's. No need to open a ppt.
Vessels are numbered (Unique ID like 1234)?
Create jpg's like 1234.jpg. Display the corresponding jpg in a pictureframe.

Nothing new Larry. . .
From the website about Steve. Page: 'A few characteristics and facts'
"Steve answered as Kristine, signed as Tom and provided rl****@penn.com as a mailaddress to send him some code."
This was 2003 <sigh>
