Noob Question

I got thrown into the deep end of the pool with an Access database, and so far learning stuff has been pretty straight forward, but I've run into a strange problem that I just can't figure out.

Several times I've made some changes to forms or queries, and they work fine in my machine, but others on the network don't see the changes unless they browse to the folder containing the database and open it from there (they normally open the database from a desktop icon). We end up deleting the desktop icon linked to the database and re-adding it, then everything works fine.

This one has me baffled.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I know where I am we have a split database, this could be the culprit...

Tables in the Back End (on the server).

Everything else (Forms, Queries, etc.) in the Front End; one FE copy per machine.

The shortcut on everyone's desktop just starts up their copy of the front end, which is linked to the data tables in the back end.

There is a Master Front End located on the server that is used to update everyones FE on their hard drive periodically.

So if you were making changes to the "Master" front end on the server, the forms and queries and such would not show up on everyone elses machines unless they had run an update.

Or you could just be working on any old copy on the server and your co-workers will never see what you have done unless they import it.

Dunno, guv. Hope you find the answer to your question.
