Tony's Auto FE Updater

Hi,

I'm having an issue with Tony's Auto FE Updater I was hoping someone
could help with. I need to use UNC instead of mapped drive letters her
in this shop drive letters are mapped differently for different people
and therefore I can not use drive letters in desktop shortcuts. Using
the StartMDB.exe program it creates
this which works fine
K:\Home\DBSupport\Updater\StartMDB.exe /cmd /inifile:"K:\Home\DBSupport
\Updater\RCTS.ini"

but as I said I can not distribute that, if I chang it to this, it
works
K:\Home\DBSupport\Updater\StartMDB.exe /cmd /inifile:"\
\Server1\vol2\Home\DBSupport\Updater\RCTS.ini"

but if I change it to this, it hangs up my pc and I have to reboot,
why? I need the shortcut to use UNC
\\Server1\Vol2\Home\DBSupport\Updater\StartMDB.exe /cmd /inifile:"\
\Server1\vol2\Home\DBSupport\Updater\RCTS.ini"

thanks
bobh.

Yowzer. That's certainly not nice.

Can you email me your INI file and I'll take a look at it?

What happens when, from your workstation, you click on the startmdb.exe on the
server? Do you see the INI files in the list box? Does the Validate INI File button
work? Hows about the Run INI file button?

Hi Tony,
Actually, I sent you two emails but I didn't know if they got through
so I posted here as well.
to answer your questions;
>What happens when, from your workstation, you click on the startmdb.exe on the server?
Ans: the exe starts up, opens the screen and I see a list of ini
files
>Do you see the INI files in the list box?
Ans: Yes, that screen works without issue
>Does the Validate INI File button work?
Ans: Yes
>Hows about the Run INI file button?
Ans: Yes it works, it creates the .lnk file on my desktop but it
creates it using mapped drive letters even though I used UNC in
the .INI file. So, I have to change the .lnk file to UNC which is when
it hangs my pc.
