Hello everyone, currently I am building a database for a club in my school. I am at the point where I want to integrate Access with Outlook, this part of the development process has been giving me a lot of problems. I am novice user of Access. I want to basically add all of the emails from a field called EMAIL_ADDRESS from a tabled called MEMBERS to outlooks Contacts list. I also want the contact list to be dynamic meaning if a member is deleted/added in the table then his/her email address will also be removed/add from/to the contact list. I try using a linked table, Contacts, in Access and then attempted to create an append query to update the information in the Contacts Linked table. But whenever I try to run the query a message comes "You do not have the necessary permissions to use " object". This message also shows up when I try to manually enter the data in the linked table Contacts in Datasheet view mode. I have searched for days on internet to find a solution but to no avail. Please does any one why this is happening or can suggest another way of doing what I wanted. I am using Access 2007 OS vista Thank you for your inputs
Well, to put it simply, it is by design. In order to accomplish what you're wanting to do, you're going to have to learn how to program in CDO. This is the language that Outlook uses along with VBA to set objects and variables to be able to added and remove contacts from the contacts list. This is one of those objects that you have to jump through some major hoops to get at as well as being able to send email from it.
You need to make sure that your current version of Outlook has CDO support installed. Since you're currently running Outlook 2007, You'll need to download the CDO support from Microsoft's support website.

If you need more help and code examples, you'll need to get a hold of a book, The Complete Guide to Outlook 2007. I think that will give you all the answer you have about what you need to do. It's more than I'm able to detail at the moment. If you have more specific questions, let me know, I'll try to help,
