Hi again
I've come to eat humble pie! I use Access 2003 and have
not had any problems displaying pictures but another recent thread mentioned PhotoEditor so I looked it up and it seems
Microsoft acknowledge there is an issue and suggest reinstalling it. In a further article they explain that without PhotoEditor ther is
not an OLE server present.
I have a number of computers and the one running Acc2003 does NOT have photoed.exe anywhere on the disc. If I double-click on any graphic file (bmp or jpg) it opens in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
Another computer running Acc2002 does have photoed.exe (in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\) When I click on bmp's they open in the Fax Viewer but jpg's open in PhotoEd.
I know this is just a matter of 'File Association' and have now made each file type appear in the opposite to what it was. But this led me to thinking "Is this your problem?"
If you double click on a jpg in Windows Explorer, what package does your computer choose to open the file?? Is it Windows Picure Manager?
So, firstly can you open PhotoEditor to check that it will run. Secondly can you change you jpg file association to PhotoEd.
Does that fix you problem?

PS Perhaps Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is an alternative OLE server to PhotoEd.
