Drop Down List

P: 1
I am using Access 2000. I have a data entry form that uses a drop down list. Although the source table for the list is sorted alphabetically the items appear in the form in the order they were entered in the source table rather than alphabetically. How do I get an alphabetical drop down list short of manually moving the items in the source table around, which is not practical in this case?

Hi Parkerasme,

To sort the drop down list alphabetically, you need to go into design mode of the form and edit the row source. You can use the query editor by choosing Ascending in the sort field on the column of the field that is shown in the drop down list.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
