Gantt Charts in Access

Hi Guys, my first post.

I've been doing alot of "googling" for a way to make Gantt charts as an Access report. I am aware of what MS Project and Visio do and also aware of other programs out there that can feed off MS Access Data.

The data set up is as follows:

There are a list of courses which have a start date and a duration (in weeks) giving an effective end date. Each course is assigned to a location - of which there are 12 locations and around 100 courses to each location - on a many-to-one basis (i.e a course can only exist at one location but a location can have many courses)

Any tips would be appreciated as i've been banging my head against a wall on this for ages. I keep trying to use MS Chart thingy but it never seems to display any of my data.

I am using Access 2007 and the data i want is generated via a Query.

Thankyou all very kindly in advance

Chris

so... Are we talking 1200 bars?

Hi Dude,

no, not 1200 bars per chart - but 12 charts of which there are around 100 bars on each. Basicallyt i need to generate a Gantt chart for each location displaying when courses are taking place - so they can make a big poster of it and stick it on their wall!

Well, assuming you just need a timeline thing and don't need to show dependencies between the different tasks, I suppose you could create a bunch of colored rectangles in a report and use code to populate everything; Preferably with a loop of some sort.
