How do I overwrite a record in a table with an existing primary key?

Hi there,

I have an update query that will insert a record from another table into an empty table.

If I change ie a field in a record i like to overwrite that record in the table. This is not allowed and it says that you are inserting 0 record when the query is run.

How do I solve this?

I'm not sure I understand. An insert is not an update query but an append query. What table are you talking about when you say "that" table? What does any of this have to do with a primary key? You mention a primary key problem in your title but don't elaborate on it in the post.
