Conditional Count Query

I have a table with columns: Cus_name,item,order_date,despatch_date.

The logic is :

we first allow the customer to choose an item

then,fill the order date.

Lastly, the despatch date is filled 0n the day when the item

is despatched & the customer is notified.

[if there is insufficient stock then the items are despatched late.]

Now can anyone help me build a query(not a program) that gives me the count of Cus_names

who have order_dates from previous year(2006) assuming their items have

not yet been despatched even in the current year(2007) due low amount of stock,

(despatch_date is yet to be filled).

Please use a more descriptive thread title.

This is a straight forward query. It's not a basic query but it's definitely not advanced. Just create a count aggregate query and put in the criteria one at a time.
