New record partially overwriting old record

P: 4
hi guys!

I have a form that accepts customer details.

but when I try to add a new record via the form and save it, only a few fields show the newely added details and the remaining fields still hold the data of some other old record(the form doesnt get updated with a new record)

Also at times a new record is saved at the cost of other record i.e it deletes an existing record to make room for a new record.

can anyone help me with this?

It sounds as if you're simply entering new data in an existing record! How are you moving to a new record before entering data in it?

Are you speaking of the Access Add button down by the Record Navigation Buttons (lower left hand corner) or a button you've created to add a record? If the latter, give us the code behind the button.
