The only reliable way I've ever found is to change the default for Access itself. Goto
Tools -
Options -
Edit/Find and under
Find/Replace Behavior select
General Search.
Now (and this is important) exit not only your database, but Access itself. The next time and each time thereafter that you crank Access up, the default find behavior will be
Any Part of Field.
This has to be done for each PC you'll run your db on, unless the option has been set to
General Search previously.
You can set this in the VBA code of a form, by using
- Application.SetOption "Default Find/Replace Behavior",1
but the kicker is, like setting it in Options, it doesn't take effect until Access is closed then opened again.
