link table to sql server low on first connection faster on all others

Hello everyone, quick question. I have an Access application (Access
2003) which has link tables to a SQL server.

When you do anything on the application that requires accessing data
of a link table it is kind of slow the first time you do it; all other
times the connection goes quickly.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so is there a solution to the
problem. Any help appreciated.
