Need help with search text box

3
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and new to MSAccess. I have used Excel a lot as well as VBA.

I am working on a project, and have got to a point where I don't know how to continue. I have a form, and two tables. on the main form I want to have a text box that the user can type in and it query one table and bring back the results in some text boxes below it. I tired a couple of things and they either broke the rest of the form query or it wrote what I was searching for in the current table record.

I'm sure there is an example here, I'm just not sure what to search for.

I can post my db if it would help

Thanks

It's not entirely clear what your question means, but it sounds like it may be a selection / filtering issue. If so, try out Example Filtering on a Form.

awesome that was what I needed. with the example I was able to create my own filter and it's working!! a little tweaking and clean up and I'll be good to go

thanks again

I'm very pleased to hear it. Your previous experience obviously helped you to grasp the idea and run with it pretty quickly. Well done.
