i have made a form to keep track of hours worked:

my question is how do you get it to add up the hours in a query

Example:

time in: 6:00 am
time out: 2:30 pm

would = 8.5 hrs

At this link, page down to the section on computing elapsed time, and the section on employing elapsed time in queries, forms, and reports. The link provides source code for a function that can be called from your subs and queries to do the computations as needed.
