How do I save a record from a one table to another empty table?

11
Hi there,

I have the following tables:
ProductionRun: {ProductionRunID(Primary Key), Product(foreign key referencing ProductRecipe table)}

ProductRecipe: {Product(primary key), ....}

ProductRunUsage:{ProductionRunID(primary key), other field same as productRecipe}

For every production run, I like to save the record in the productRecipe that corresponds to that particular product referenced by productionRun table, in ProductionRunUsage.

At the same time, convert the data in ProductRecipe fields using a formula and then save it in ProductRunUsage.

Since, all the fields can be referenced, there shouldn't be a need to manually enter data for ProductionRunUsage (ie, ProductionrunID).

How do I go about doing this? I have a form for ProductionRun and I like to view those fields of ProductionRunUsage on the form as a subform, maybe.

Thank you for your help

Your ProductRunUsage table is entirely redundant. Why do this? there's no benefit to it.
