Slow running access

Hello,
My name is Siebe and I switched my working computer to a notebook. On this notebook, Access runs really slow, even with a 1 table DB with 2 collumns, no relationships or whatever.

The notebook is a Toshiba Tecra 1, Intel Centrino 2 Ghz, 1024 Mb RAM. Windows XP and Office 2003 are installed. I should say that this don't cause the problem..

Has anybody an idea why access is so slow and using all the processor capacity? It looks like Access is looking for something and can't find it, but I don't have a clue.

Hi Siebe

Based on the spec you have given this should not be happening.

1. Open the task manager using control + alt + delete.
2. Check the processes list and see if more than one application of MS Access is running.
3. If it is then close your database and close down all MS Access instances in the processes list.
4. Check your database (and any other Access databases running on your computer) to see if there is any code which opens a new application instance of Access as it is probably not being closed.
5. Failing this I would uninstall office completely and reboot before reinstalling it.
