Strange request regarding alternate weeks

365 100+
Hello (again)

i have a rather strange problem to tackle
i am still doing the holiday database (for those who have helped me before)
and now need (which means i have to rethink everything)
to assign to each staff member a two week shift pattern
what i have come up with so far is a table with this info
LineID - autonumber
StaffID - foreign key
CurrentID - this relates to the most current shiift pattern (cos i cant delete info (audits))
week number - shift week 1/2
monAM
monPM
tueAM
tuePM
etc
etc
in these boxes stores a numeric value in minutes for each day in the am and pm, reletive to staff working patterns and allows them to take off "two weeks" for example and it records how many minutes they use for each holiday day etc

i can input this using a form relitively easily

the trouble is looking this up,
i need a query (method) to check which week rotation their holiday date falls upon and then book that information into the holiday table

HT
holidayID - record id
request id - so that i can tabulate from to dates
staff id
date (one date/request for each day off)
am - minutes used as per date
pm - as above
total - for date
and comments - annual leave, maternity etc...

i believe there is a way to "week mod" to return odd and even weeks, this might be useful? but i do not know the lingo for this function and have had no luck searching.

it also needs the ability to select mid week dates and so on.

any ideas??

even a point in the right direction would be good for me cos i am lost,

what started out as a simple thing to me has turned into a nightmare.

i dont actually work in IT so all this is a "hobby" that seems to take up all y time at the mo.

thanks again for reading and look forward to advice.... again.
