How to check Null or "" in VBA code

I have to following VBA code,

If IsNull(strSavePtyp) & "" Then
rst.Delete
End If

The problem I am facing right now is, even when the value of strSavePtyp is "" (blank), the rst.Delete is not getting executed, basically its not going into the IF condition even if strSavePtyp is not populated in the table.

strSavePtyp is a number field from a table. I have it defined as follows,
Dim strSavePtyp As String

Please help.

Thanks a lot.

Try this instead ...
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. If nz(strSavePtyp,"") = "" Then
  2.     rst.Delete
  3. End If
  4.
