date must be 8 digits

While working with date of birth, the error thrwn up is date must be 8 digits.

I'm sorry, but is there a question here? Dates, with the possible exception of those used on Star Trek, generally are 8 digits long; 11/23/2007 for instance.

How is your date field formatted? Do you have an Input Mask in place? Exactly what action is causing this message to pop up; are you entering a valid date and it's popping up anyway? We really need details if we're to help you!
