Newbie Access Question

1
This is going to sound stupid, but I am totally new to Access and need help...

I have 3 tables, one I am treating as a Master with Project ID set as the PK. I need 2 other tables to automatically create a new record when a new record is created in the Master table.

I have a relationship set up (one to many) between the Master table Project ID field and the other 2 tables Project ID fields (not set to PK in 'sub' tables)...

Any help with this would be massively appreciated as I have to get this done ASAP!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi, there.

That sounds like you have an improper table design.

Please post the MetaData for your tables. Here is an example of how to post table MetaData :
Table Name=tblStudent
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Field; Type; IndexInfo
  2. StudentID; AutoNumber; PK
  3. Family; String; FK
  4. Name; String
  5. University; String; FK
  6. Mark; Numeric
  7. LastAttendance; Date/Time
Also take a look at Database Normalisation and Table structures article.

Regards,
Fish
