appending tables with varying field names.

1
i'm trying to append 5 tables the problem is that although most of the columns are the same the are on or two or so unique columns in each table. I would like to append the tables creating one table with ALL fields listed. I dont know the name of all the possible unique fields, so i need a generic solution.

I would then like to put a 0 value in where a fields meets a record that didn't prevously have that fields. ( hope that makes sense).

hope you can help

thanks

Hi, meacho.

From your question it is not clear whether you want to join or to union your tables. Plz provide a meaningful example.

Regards,
Fish
