filter not working

40
I have a form with subforms on it. The main form is used for selecting an item and subform lists all it's properties in datasheet view. Problem is that when I right click in subforms contents and enter filter it does not return anything. Filter by selection works fine as filter excluding selection. Just the filter where I enter value does not work. It return no items no matter what I put in. The field I am trying to filter shows text but is linked to auto number field. If I put text in filter it returns no results, while number shows error! Any help on this would be appreciated!!

Strange, in general the right-click works OK, even when it's a lookup field.

Did you check that the name of the field in the subform in designmode is equal to the name of the controlsource?

yes.. Control source and name in datasheet match.
I looked in filter and I think it something to do with a fact that I have over 1000 entries unfiltered or two filters - from Form to subform and right click - are conflicting....
Anyhow. I think the best solution would be to remove filter option from right click... any ideas how to do it?

The right-click popup is by design and better to leave "in place".
Did you try to enter the string with a preceding and trailing "*" to select all and ignore spaces?

Yey... that did the trick...
I did not know I needed exact things... I though if I enter just 'a' it will find all the values that contain a, but I did not think that ** is also needed...
So this problem is taken care of...
Thank you so much!!!
