Take a value from another field when the first field had no value

37
Hi I wanted to make a statement in a form to take a value from one field if the first field has no value. I have a form created from two tables. Each table has a field called Haul number. On the form the Haul number has to be assigned a number like 1,2,3,4 etc and both haul fields have to have the same number. Right now I have to have two different fields in the form so that both tables are getting the same information. I would like to hide the field on the form from the second table and make a statement to have the value from the first field go to both fields. I tried to use
=IIf([Text Box 492=Null],[Text Box 490])
where text box 492 is from the second table and text box 490 is from the first table, but it did not work

Hi, there.

There is a special VBA function IsNull() to check whether the value is Null.
Boolean expression like
SomeValue = Null
will allways return Null, never True or False
