MS Access 2000 Printer Settings Not Saving With Vista Bus.

P: 3
IN VISTA

MS Access 2000 Printer Settings Not Saving With Vista Bus.

The printer settings (Label or Env.) keep on change back to another setting after saving them on a report or form, when viewing them on other Vista computers.

I have tried many things see Example:
Open my report in Design mode. Select Page Setup. On the Page tab,
alongside Use Specific Printer, press the Printer button. Having
selected your printer, press Properties. On the Layout tab, press
the Advanced button near the bottom right. Against Paper/Output, Paper
size, selected my "Custom01" Form Label. OK your way out of the
various popup windows.

Also set my security to allow everything on the Printer properties & MS Access file. But it still does not work.

I did this test with 2 Vista PC.

Any Help On This Matter.

This problem is "by design" for A2000 databases.
Even when running on XP the settings are lost when moving to another PC :-(

This can be handled by code, but that's rather complex, check:

Sorry for the bad news...

Do you know if newer versions of MS Access for Example 2003 or 2007 save the printer settings?

Also the Sendkeys in VB don't work in Access 2000. Do you know if their is a MS Fix for this yet?

Thanks for your help.

==> They allow you to control the printer from a Printer object in VBA code.

==> It should, but better to use the proper commands as a Sendkeys won't work when the user switches to another application...
