About Access 2003 ODBC and Jet 3.51

With the database window open I click on Help, then click on "About
Microsoft Office Access". A dialog window is presented and there are 4
buttons at the bottom right of the form. One is SystemInfo and when I
press that I get a Summary dialog box of particulars. One of the
options is Office 2003 Applications.

If I press on the plus sign O2003Apps, I can drill down and select
Access 2003 and drill down to its selections. In the summary selection
I get a lot of version info regarding my Access.

The one marked Jet Core Components is the one I have a question about.
There are various items listed with each item having 3 lines;
Description, Path, and Version.

For 2 items, Jet 3.5 and ODBC, the path is "Not available" and the
version is empty.

I'm not so concerned about the Jet 3.5 as the summary said I had Jet
4.0. Right now tho, if I attempt to select an ODBC source
(File/GetExternalData/Link Tables) and select "ODBC Databases ()" the
window simply closes and I have no opportunity to select a data source.
Is it normal to have the ODBC item in the Jet Core Components list not
available? I'd feel more comfortable if I could access the ODBC list
whether or not I need it.

I have Access 2003 SP2 and Jet Core Components list Jet 4.0 and ODBC as both Not
Available. I can link to an ODBC source through Get External Data/Link Tables,
select ODBC Databases(). I get a window for Select Data Source having two tabs,
File Data Source and Machine Data Source. I suppose that everything I have
described is just the way it is supposed to work.

Forgot to mention that Jet Cores Services list both Jet 2.x and Jet 3.x as both
available. Access 2003 is the only Access version that has ever been on this
computer.

Thanks for providing one more link in my search for why ODBC wasn't
working. Found out is was NAV2006 that caused the problem.
