Font sizes in 'rich text' control

I have run into a problem with the new rich text control in Access 2007. It
seems that you can only choose from 6 preset font sizes when entering or
editing text. The sizes are 8,10,12,14,18,24,36, which as I understand it,
corresponds to Font Size=1 through Font Size = 6 in HTML. Is there any way
around this. I have a need to display the data at 46pt, and also to make
fine discriminations in font size depending on the data displayed.

Is there some other way to tell HTML to display a font size? Is there some
way to overcome these limits in Access 2007?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Randy

Here is a reply I received from Rick Brandt, an Access MVP.

<quote>
Let me state first that apparently Microsoft is not an "expert in HTML"
either. The HTML that Access 2007 uses is 1990 vintage stuff that any self
respecting web developer would cringe at. The font tag has been deprecated
for years. Standard HTML CSS styles are not recognized as I tried entering
those and they were ignored completely.

In addition Access 2007 is apparently only set up to recognize this old
fashioned HTML within further restricted confines imposed by MS. From what
I can tell <font-size = 2has a very specific meaning to Access 2007 and it
has very little to do with font sizes as they would be defined in a real web
page. This HTML they are using is ALL about being compatible with
Sharepoint services with all other considerations being secondary.

If you were to ask MS directly I believe the answer you would get is that
the RTF option in Access 2007 is there to provide "some" additional
formatting of text beyond what would traditionally be available. It is NOT
really the same as an ActiveX solution that supports Rich Text or real HTML.
You are probably stuck with what you are seeing.

Anyone have anything else to add?
