Losing data in MS Access

1
Hello out there
Can anyone help with why we might be mysteriously losing data in a random way from our MS Access data base? Today it happened immediately after the data entry session. None of today's data had saved. The database was designed in 2001 for our behaviour change programme info and has 8000 records in it. We have ticked off all obvious possibilities. Our IT people are stumped. Is this a case of size? Should we archive older files or empty out previous years and start a fresh version? Should we use one of those free FIX downloads? All ideas most appreciatedas this is not good for business. thanks
