Access 2003: Even distribution

P: 24
Hi All,

I was wondering how do I evenly distribute a list of accounts among 4 users. I understand based on the number of records it is not always going to be evenly distributed. Is there a statement that can be entered in the criteria of a query. I originally did it by alpha split but that doesn’t work that well. Thank you for any suggestions.

When you desing an autonumber as the ID, you can use a query with the MOD statement like:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. select [Id] Mod 4 + 1AS PartNo, ...
  2.
Now a field containing 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, ..... will be added.
Based on this query you can create a grouped report allowing you to have 4 different sections with equally distributed rows.

Getting the idea ?
