How to update inventory?

I want to create a database where it can update my inventory whenever there is an order. I'm not a programmer but, I can understand the code. Would someone show me how I can I achieve this> Thanks

MS has a number of template databases that you could check out:

Databases - Templates - Microsoft Online

If you run into a specific problem while implementing one of these, post back here and we'll talk more.

In general we use a tblStockItem to record the stock qty at a certain moment. A good moment is the (yearly?) stock count.
For calculating the stock on hand we add to this the purchase order quantity and subtract the shipped orders.

The advantage is the fact that an update of the qty of a shipped order will not result in the need of a reverse update of the stockitem qty.

Getting the idea ?
