web access to queries in a split database

I have a fairly simple, split, Access 2000 database which logs data gathered externally. There is just one form which inputs the data once a minute through an rs232 control. The form has a graph control which displays a subset of the data. The data source for the graph control is a query which uses parameters from a list box and calendar control on the same form. All this works fine.
The computer that is running this database is on a network. I now want to share the folder that has the backend on it and run a stripped down database on another computer just using the display aspects of the form. I can't see any reason why this should not work with the new database constructing its own queries from the shared tables.
My problem is that I would then like to increase the usefulness of the whole project by accessing the data for the display function over the internet. Somehow I think the tables would be quite large to use for running the queries over the web. I know nothing of clients and servers but I would like to see a client give the parameters to the server which would then perform the query for the client to download and display. The number of clients would be two or three at most and the traffic very light.
If someone could point me in the right direction for the best vehicles for this application it would save me spending time going down blind alleys.

TIA

Dave

I'm not really familiar with the construction you're looking for, but in general Access is considered to be too "instable" to act as a "web-database".
In general the free MySQL database is used in combination with PHP to build web applications and these are supported by most of the ISP's.

Not much, but I hope it saves an alley :-)
