add a record in access form

i want to accept data into access form but add to the table only after confirmation. .
when i open a form with addnew. it takes the data, the moment we enter the data into the fields attached to the fields in the table. i m not able to check the data on the fields in the procedure as it give the error ."can not access mthods or property of control not having focus"
help please.

This is not true; the data is only saved after you explicitly save it with code or you move to another record or you close the form!

We can discuss ways and means of checking the data before saving later, but apparently you've already made an effort in that direction that's popped up the error you mentioned. Why don't you post the code you've tried and we'll see first if we can fix it?
