Mail merge with a functional hyperlink

I have a simple table named "Profile" that includes a field called [Web]. The field [Web] is set as a text data type. The records in the field are basic website addresess like From this table I am using the Tools - Office Links - Merge IT with Microsoft Word to format an email message. In the Word document I add the merge fields of which [Web] is included.

When I view the merged data the [Web] field does not format as a hyperlink. I have tried going back to the Access table and setting the format there but when I view the merged data in Word it prints as # and still does not display as a hyperlink.

How can I merge the data in that field into Word as a hyperlink so that the recipients will get a working hyperlink they can click on?

I know almost no VB. Thanks!

Did you try to change the tablefield into a hyperlink datatype ?
