Installation Of 2002 App On Vista

P: n/a
Hi All

I have an app packaged with Access 2002 ODE Tools

the installetion works perfectly on Windows 98, 2000 and XP, but it will not
install on Vista. I think it has to do with the fact that setup.exe for
Access runtime checks the operating system and does not recognize vista.

has anyone come across this problem and if so, is there a way to fix it.

This knowledgebase article explaoins that you need to delete Dbmsadsn.dll
from Ospfilelist.txt before you create your installation disk:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=837150

There's also another bug about having the wrong language, so you will want
to delete all these from the text file:
DBMSADSN.DLL
MSXML.DLL
DBNMPNTW.DLL
SQLOLEDB.DLL
