dBASE VII won't open correctly ( .dbf )

I'm importing some .dbf files into Access, but getting "can't recognize format errors" on some of them

I realised that the ones that transfer okay are "dBASE III/IV/Clipper" file format, and the ones that won't work are "dBASE VII" file format

Also, the dBASE VII files won't even open correctly. Data is badly jumbled and the format is WAY off...so, there's no solution to it I can think of, other than possibly changing dBASE VII to dBASE III or IV.

If anyone knows how to do this, or knows of some other solution I would really appreciate the help.

The only thing I can think of is to export the files from DBASE as csv files and then import them into Access.
