How do I buiild this table ????

P: n/a
I hope somebody out there can help me with this. I am in the proces of
building a database and the database is cointaing informations
regarding patients undergoing surgery.
I want to create a "feature" in the database where I instead of having
a "drop down" menu or memo field- I want to be able to add in
information for each patient - but I also want the information to be
available for other patients.
E.g. Patient 001 gets Panadol, morphine and furesomid. Patient 003 is
on Panadol and Nitroglycerin.
I want the database to remember the Panadol - maybe as a dropdown -
but at least as when I type the first letter it will suggest Panadol !

I want 10 blank fields for each patient that has this feature.

Hope it makes sense - and thanks in advance !

You need 3 tables
1 table for Patients - PatientID, Name etc
1 table for Medicines - MedicineID, MedicineName
A JoinTable with PatientId, MedicineID, Dose, Date prescribed etc

You have a main form for the patient with a subform for their medicines. The
subform will have a combo box for the different medicines. When you type the
"P" into the dropdown combo it will show all the medicined that begin with
"P" includind Panadol, Pethedine etc. As you type more letters it will
become specific to the correct grug

Incidently doing it this way there are no limitations to the number of grugs
paer patient and equally it is very simple to get the reverse information of
which patients are on Panadol
