linked mySQL tables with truncated MEMO fields

My company's web application uses mySQL databases. I have linked these tables (Read only) into Access 2007 so I can create queries and reports.

Now I need to extract some of the content from these linked tables so that I may do a mail merge into Word. Unfortunately, I find that many of the fields are being truncated.

I tried importing the tables and still find the fields are truncated. So neither importing or linking is bringing in the entire field.

Other posts regarding this topic has talked about setting to "NO" Distinct or Distinct Row or Unique Value Property or not specifying the field's format property.

However, I find that the raw data in the datasheet view is already truncated before I get an opportunity to do any of these suggestions.

Is there some sort of default import setting which I need to toggle which will bring the ENTIRE data across from our linked mySQL tables into Access 2007 or do I need to scrap Access and find a tool that works without limitations?
