bound control on input form

P: 3
Hi Everybody

I need help - I am trying to revive long forgotten MS Access skills to complete a database for a school that I am working at in Thailand. I want to use a form to select certain records for update function. What I need is the know-how to create a bound control that will allow me to see an error message on opening the form. I then want to be forced to select a specific value (class number) from a combo box, which would return some of the student data in the database for update.

I have no idea how to create that error message window, nor how to summarize the 680 current records to only show the 21 records with the same value in the specific field that I want to filter from.

Sorry Annette

I'm confused about what you are asking for. Lets tackle the issues separately. First of all what do you want to trigger an error? By that I mean when the form opens under what circumstances do you want the error message to show? Think of it logically rather than technically as it will be easier for us to understand.
