Open anotehr database and close current...

I have a need to set up a gateway database so to speak that will read
the network ID of the user who opened the database and then send them
on to a second database based on that user ID. I know how to fetch
the network id based on code from Dev and his OSUserName module. To
make the example simpler here is what I want to do....

User clicks on a button.
The database as location X:\foo\NetworkUserID\database.mdb is opened.
The current database is closed.

I thought I had the code set to do this but it isnt working. Either I
am having a brain fart, a reference is missing, my code is botched, or
who knows what. Can someone help me get back on course with this
please?
